Following the Inner Compass
- Nature and Soul
- Meditation, Creative Therapy
As we move towards the longest days of the year, I find myself reflecting on journeys.
Not the kind measured in miles, but the quieter journeys we make within ourselves.
Over recent years, creativity, meditation and time spent in nature have become ways of navigating my own path. Through painting, journalling, walking and reflection, I have gradually come to understand that personal growth is rarely a straight line.
More often, it feels like entering unfamiliar territory.
When I look back at much of the artwork I have created over recent years, I can see that I have been making maps.
Not maps of places, but maps of experience.
A phoenix emerging from leaves.
Twin energies gestating something new.
Mermaids and fish swimming through symbolic waters.
Feathered spirits moving through air and light.
At the time, I rarely knew exactly what they meant. Yet each painting carried something important. They became markers along a path of personal and spiritual exploration.
In many ways, my creative practice has become a journey into the wilderness of self-discovery.
There are times in life when the old way no longer fits.
We know something needs to change.
We know we cannot continue as we have been.
Yet we do not know what comes next.
This can be one of the most uncomfortable places to be.
Many people arrive here feeling lost, burnt out or disconnected from themselves. They have spent years responding to the needs of others and no longer know what they want, what matters to them, or what direction they wish to travel in.
What I have discovered is that we do not always need a map.
Sometimes we need a compass.
A way of orienting ourselves towards what feels true, meaningful and alive.
A way of noticing the quiet voice beneath the noise.
A way of listening to what is trying to emerge.
As we approach this month's Full Moon in Sagittarius, I find myself reflecting on exploration, truth and the courage to follow the next step, even when the whole path is not visible.
This month's meditation invites you to walk an imagined path, guided by moonlight and supported by a guide who appears along the way. It is an invitation to reconnect with your own inner compass and listen for what may be calling you forward.
You do not need all the answers.
You do not need to know the destination.
The invitation is to trust the next step.
Join Me This June
This month I am opening a new online gathering:
Following the Inner Compass: Meditation, Reflection & Creative Exploration
Together we will explore where we are on our journey, what resources we already carry, and what may be emerging beneath the surface of our lives.
Through guided meditation, reflective prompts and gentle creative practice, we will begin mapping the landscapes we are currently travelling through.
No artistic experience is needed.
Only curiosity, openness and a willingness to listen.
I would love to welcome you.
