Walking Gently Out of Winter - An Invitation to February

There is a quiet turning that happens in February. Here is your February creative wellbeing newsletter for reflective journaling, nervous system regulation, nature connection and self-care

The days are slowly lengthening, yet the body may still feel winter’s pull. Externally, there is a sense of movement beginning again. Internally, something may still be resting, listening, integrating.

This in-between space can feel confusing. Part of us ready to step forward, part of us needing more time. In my work, I see February as a threshold: a moment to walk gently, rather than rush, from stillness into renewal.

Becoming Visible, Gently

I also want to name something personal that feels important here.

After long periods of healing, retreat, or deep inner change, becoming visible again can feel vulnerable. Many people I work with, particularly those who identify as sensitive or neurodivergent, speak of how meaning is often found in quiet, inward spaces rather than busy, outward ones.

There can be a conflict between the part of us that feels safest in reflection and the part of us that knows it is time to step forward, to share, to be seen.

This is held gently in my therapy and supervisory work. We honour both the need for sanctuary and the longing for connection. There is no rush, no expectation to perform or explain who you are before you feel ready.

Connection as a Nervous System Resource

Connection is not only something we do with others, it is something we experience within ourselves.

When we feel safe enough to be present with our inner world, our nervous system begins to settle. From that place, authentic connection with others becomes possible, not through effort or performance, but through resonance.

This month’s reflection explores:

  • what helps you feel safe in connection

  • how your inner world is asking to be expressed

  • how to honour your own rhythm of emergence

The February Newsletter offers ...

  • a short seasonal reflection

  • a gentle nature-based practice

  • an inward listening invitation

  • a creative response invitation

  • a reflective journaling prompt

Everything is invitational. You can move at your own pace and take only what feels supportive. Sign up for the newletter HERE

For Therapists & Practitioners

Many therapists and supervisees I work with touch on something that feels difficult to name. Such as a spiritual or existential dimension of being human that sits alongside psychological understanding.

Often there is a longing to explore this aspect of self in a way that is grounded, ethical, and embodied, without bypass, dogma, or performance.

My supervision practice offers a space where the psychological and spiritual can be held together with care, reflection, and discernment.

If you are a therapist of any modality seeking to explore this integration, for yourself or your practice, I am offering a reflective, creative group space for therapists. You are warmly invited to register your interest and stay connected as courses and circles begin in March and bookings open this month. Contact me HERE to enquire.
